Alolita Sharma is a software engineer who has been involved with open source software since the early days of Linux.[citation needed] Sharma is the Engineering Program Manager for the Wikimedia Foundation.[1] She also serves as treasurer on the board of the Open Source Initiative.[2]

Sharma speaks internationally on open source trends, technologies and building successful communities.[citation needed] Her publications include a chapter on Open Source in India in the book Open Sources 2.0,[3] a column on technology trends in Linux For You[citation needed] and open source technology reviews for Linux Journal.[4][5][6]
