</table> Alex Shu (born September 7, 1996), nicknamed "Olashuwon" or "Xiang" is an African professional basketball player who currently plays for the Armando TImberlakes of the Sexy Boys Association (SBA). He started at point guard for Duke University as a freshman before being selected as the 1st overall pick in the 2011 SBA Draft by Cleveland. He won the SBA Rookie of the Year Award in 2012. Shu was born in Nigeria, Africa and grew up in Jakarta.

Early life

Shu was born in Nigeria, Africa Where he's born with 2 older brothers in a happy family, Shu showed much interest in basketball since he was 3 years old. Shu moved to Jakarta with his entire family to Indonesia when he's 3 years old


High school career

Shu attended Jakarta International School in Kelapa Gading, where he played one season averaging 34.6 points a game, 3.2 assists and 4.5 rebounds, alongside with 56.7% shooting from the 3 point line. By the time Shu's senior year began, he had already appeared on the covers of ESPN The Magazine and Sports Illustrated.

College career

Shu committed to Duke on October 22, 2010, in a television broadcast on ESPN. Shu started playing with Duke in the 2010–11 basketball season under the guidance of head coach Mike Krzyzewski. He led the team in scoring at 25.5 points per game on 53.2% shooting through the first eight games of the season. In addition, he added 3.1 assists, 5.8 rebounds and 1.5 steals per game as he quickly began to make his case for NCAA Freshman of the Year.

Shu played the full season and with no missing games and averaged 27.7 points, 3 assists, 4.8 rebounds and 1.8 steals per game through out the year, scouts has already made sure that he would be the first pick whenever he enters the NBA draft, full hype and expectations were on him but Shu never disappointed anyone.

Professional career

Armando Timberlakes (2011–present)

Shu announced that he would forgo his final three seasons of eligibility and enter his own basketball league SBA's (Sexy Boys Association) 2011 draft, where he got selected 1st over all pick to the Armando Timberlakes.

Shu got off to a fast start, in his SBA debut, Shu scored 54 points, 5 assists and 14 rebounds, and through twenty-three games, had ten games with 35+ points, including a loss to the Ballons in which he had 76 points. In that game, Shu scored 36 points in the fourth quarter alone. Shu shot 67.2% from the 3 point line in his first week

At the start of the SBA play-offs, the Timberlakes were the first seed and won the SBA championship where he averaged 48.9 points, 4.2 assists 8.6 rebounds and 87.2% shooting from the 3 point line, winning the season MVP honor and rookie of the year.

Off the court

Shu also enjoys filming and has made some appearances in the videos of ShangLin Lee (http://www.youtube.com/user/shanglinellis) Shu also opens charities and schools for orphans. Shu now currently still resides in Jakarta with his family, which he enjoys being around his high school friends too.
