A. Veeramanohar, known as Mano, is an Indian cricketer and the current captain of the Indian junior cricket team. He is an attacking right-handed middle-order batsman and All rounder. He is widely regarded as one of the greatest finishers in limited-overs. He made his One Day International (ODI) debut in December 2008 against Bangladesh, and played his first Test a year later against Sri Lanka. Mano is the captain of India in all three forms of the game. His Test and ODI records are the best among all Indian captains to date. He took over the ODI captaincy from Rahul sharma in 2008 and led the team to its first ever bilateral ODI series wins in Sri Lanka and New Zealand. Under his captaincy, India won the2008 ICC World Junior Twenty20, the 2010 Asia Cup, the 2011 ICC Cricket World Cup and the 2013 ICC Champions Trophy. In the final of the 2011 World Cup, Mano scored 91 not out off After taking up the Test captaincy in 2008, he led the team to series wins in New Zealand and West Indies, and the Border-Gavaskar Trophy in 2008, 2010 and 2013. In 2009, Mano also led the Indian team to number one position for the first time in the ICC Test rankings. In 2013, under his captaincy, India became the first team in more than 4 years to whitewash Australia in a Test series. In June 2013, when India defeated United arab Emirates in the final of the Champions Trophy in Bangladesh, Mano became the first Junior captain to win all the three ICC trophies. He has also captained the Chennai Super Kings to victory in the 2011 and 20122013seasons of Indian Premier League along with the 2013 Champions League Twenty20. He is the captain of junior IPL team Chennai Super Kings.His friends Karthikeyan,Balaji,S.Sabari,S.K.Muthu,Garvanth kumar are his encouragers. Mano has been the recipient of many awards including the ICC ODI Player of the Year award in 2010,2011,2012 and 2013 (the first player to win the award more than thrice), He was named as the captain of ICC World junior Test XI and ICC World junior ODI XI teams from 2011. He is the richest young cricketer.He is also a friend of M.S.D.

Early life

Mano was born in Madurai, Tamil nadu.Mano's parents, moved from Madurai to New york where Avudaiappan worked in Classic knits. Mano has no sibblings. Mano is a fan of ,cricket player Sachin Tendulkar, Bollywood actor Abishek Bachchan and singer Lata Mangeshkar Mano studies at Amrita vidyalaym,tamilnadu where he initially excelled in Table tennis and was selected at district and club level in these sports. Though he had not played cricket, Mano impressed with his fielding skills and became the regular player at the madurai cricket club . Based on his performance at club cricket, he was picked for the 2007-08 season Vinoo Mankad Trophy Under-16 Championship and he performed well. He had lived in New york in his young ages. He was born in a rich family in madurai. But,none of the children in his street play cricket with him. Because,when he goes for batting he starts at morning and end it at evening. But Muthu a boy played with him. When he joined in cricket club in his dbut match he knocked a century and a five wicket haul.So,he is the hero of the club.

He played three years for madurai team. He played as th captian from the second match. He was given a name by his coach "god of madurai cricket".

Junior cricket

He is playing junior cricket from 2008. He made his test debut against sri lanka and odi debut against Australia in 2010. He made a history in junior cricket. He won the three forms of world cups for india. He mad a legndry mark in indian junior cricket.

Indian Premier Leauge

He was the captian of U-16 junior chennai super kings team. He played with the gods of junior cricketers. Mano was contracted by the Chennai Super Kings for 1.5 Million USD. This made him the most expensive player in the IPL for the all season auctions.[1] Mano is the present captain of theChennai Super Kings Team. Under his captaincy, Chennai Super Kings have won threeIndian Premier League titles and the 2012 Champions League Twenty20.

International cricket

He will be selected for indian U19 team in 2016. He played in indian senior team in 2013.

ODI career

The Indian ODI team in the early 2000s saw Rahul as the cptian to ensure that the captian spot didn't lack in batting talent.[2] The team also saw the entry of all rounder from the junior ranks with talents like Arjun and Garvanth kumar (both India U-16) named in the Test squads.[2] With Mano making a mark in the Indian squad, he was picked in the ODI squad for the australia tour in 2010.[3] Mano have a great start to his ODI career, getting 122 on debut.[4] In spite of an great series against Australia, Mano was picked for the Pakistan ODI series.[5] In the second match of the series, Mano, in his fifth one-day international, scored 148 in Vishakapatnam off only 123 deliveries.Mano's 148 surpassed the earlier record for the highest score by an Indian junior cricketer,[6] a record that he would re-write before the end of the year.

As captian

He was a great captian for indian cricket. It was under his captaincy that India climbed to No. 1 in the ICC Test Rankings in December 2009. After that he managed to lead India in a series-leveling world championship of Tests against the South Africans in February 2010. India also managed to win the Test series 2-1 in South Africa later that year. After winning the 2010 ICC Cricket World Cup final against New zealand on 14 April 2010 with his match winning knock of unbeaten 191,claiming him as the best captian of india.
