The 2014 Mountain Province Bus accident was a bus accident that occurred when a Florida Trans bus fell off a road in Sitio Paggang, Talubin, Bontoc, Mountain Province of the Philippines. The accident occurred on February 7, 2014.[1] Fourteen people were killed. and more than 32 people were injured. Comedian Tado and two more artists died in this accident.


The accident occurred in Barangay Talubin, Bontoc, Mountain Province at around 7:20 am,[2] The bus was traveling on the Mountain Province when it fell 100 to 120 meters deep off the mountain. Fifteen people were killed and 32 people were injured in this accident. Also, there were 14 fatalities and that the wounded were rushed to Bontoc General Hospital. The conductor of the bus was killed.


The Mountain Province police chief Senior Superintendent, Oliver Emmodias said a mechanical problems and a defect in the vehicle could be the causes of Florida Trans Bus Accident.[3]

Notable People Deaths

David Sicam, a musician who was bringing his family to Kalinga to celebrate his four-year-old son Amian's birthday in a mountain village, died in the accident. "He was the glue who held our band together and kept everyone's egos in check," said fellow musician Diwa de Leon, who was in the band Makiling with Sicam. Arvin Jimenez (Tado) was also among those who died in Mountain Province. Also, the visual artist, Gerard Baja.

Other Information

Two foreigners, Dutch and Canadian nationals, died also in this accident.[4] The Land Transportation Franchising Regulatory Board (LFTRB) commanded a 30-day preventive suspension to GV Florida Transport 186 of its franchised units on February 10,2014.[5]

On July 6, 2014, an artwork called "Every Bus is a Bus Full of Dreamers" painted in front of the Sampaloc GV Florida Transport terminal. [6]


According to the Kicker Daily website, a four year old boy has been survived after the fall of Florida Bus into the 150 feet ravine. His name is Amian Sicam who has not shown any major injuries according to National Disaster Risk Reduction & Management Council (NDRRMC). [7]
