Prof. Mohd. Masood Ahmed is a professor of Management Studies, Principal, Deccan School of Management, Hyderabad, and an educational administrator. He holds five post-graduate degrees, one each in Management,Commerce, Economics, Psychology and Management Research. Prof Masood has been giving lectures to MBA and Health administration students for over 22 years; he is also a visiting professor at some premier institutions; besides teaching, he is actively involved in training and consultancy in the field of Healthcare Management for over a decade.
He has visited more than 300 Educational Institutions in South Asia, USA and UK, viz., Business Schools, Universities, Engineering Colleges and Medical colleges. He is well-known for using poetry and citing appropriate anecdotes in his lectures. Some globally renowned Institutions are that he has visited are: Harvard University, Stanford University, Wharton, Kellogg, Johns Hopkins University, MIT, London Business School, and London School of Economics.

Prof. Mohd. Masood Ahmed as President of AIMS(Sep 2011- Aug 2012)
AIMSis a networking organisation of over 600 Business Schools in India. A registered society (1988) and a non-profit professional networking organisation, it is one of the largest networking organisaions of business schools in the world. Individual Business Schools of national and international repute have become members of AIMS. ISB, IIMs, Xavier Institutes, Welingkar, NMIMS, ICFAI, MDI, S P Jain, other Management Institutes and Departments of Top Universities are its members. It represents Indian Management Schools at both national and various International fora.
During the last one year, when Prof Mohd Masood Ahmed was President of AIMS, it focused on two important initiatives and implemented them for the first time in the history of AIMS and management education in India. But for his persistent and determined efforts to contribute to the management faculty and community in general at a national level, he would not have succeeded in such a tremendous way, receiving accolades from most of AIMS former Presidents, AIMS Executive Board Members, and Dean and Director of Business Schools. They are:
1.Faculty Development Programmes
AIMS has set the target of training 1000 faculty members of Business Schools in about 6 months starting from March, 2012. Thanks to the support of the Executive Board members, former presidents, resource persons, office bearers of various Chapter Managing Committees and many heads of AIMS institutional members, this national movement has received an overwhelming success with 1113 faculty members participating in 15 one-day programmes from 312 management institutes from all parts of the country. The feedback from the participants, more particularly from the rural areas, has been excellent as they never had such an exhilarating experience.
In addition, AIMS also conducted two programmes for Library professionals in association with ISB, Hyderabad and Mohali, and another programme for Wardens/Caretakers at NITHM, Hyderabad. They also received a good number of participants.
2.AIMS National Management Week
During the tenure of Prof Mohd Masood Ahmed as President of AIMS, at the suggestion of many Chapters of AIMS and some Executive Board members, AIMS has launched another initiative. For the first time in the history of AIMS, it has requested Member institutes to celebrate AIMS National Management Week, every year during 1st to 7th August, beginning this year itself, by conducting various academic and community social responsibility activities. Quite a number of institutes participated in these celebrations. Upon their presentations, four institutes – Master School of Management, Meerut and PSG Institute of Management, Coimbatore, JK Laxmipath University, Jaipur and Integral Institute of Advanced Management – were awarded Community Social Responsibility Awards for their achievements during the AIMS National Management Week. The awards were distributed during the 24th AIMS National Management Education Week 2012 held during 25th – 27th August, 2012.
3.Asian Education Leadership Award for prof Mohd Masood Ahmed
Prof Mohd Masood Ahmed, Immediate Past President of the Association of Indian Management Schools (AIMS) and Principal, Deccan School of Management has been accepted for the coveted and prestigious “Asian Education Leadership Award as Young Achiever Award “ was presented on 25th September, 2012 in Dubai. The above achievements can be termed as a great contribution to the management education in the country as well as across Asia at his young age. Recognizing his contribution to the nation as well as Asia, he has been selected for receiving the ASIAN EDUCATION LEADERSHIP AWARD
In addition to the above, Prof Mohd Masood Ahmed steered the 24th AIMS Annual Management Education, 2012 on “Innovative Management Education for Sustainable Development” held during 25th – 27th August, 2012 at Mahindra Satyam Learning World,Hyderabad to a grand success, with an attendance of 400 delegates – Deans and Directors of Business Schools, Faculty and Students and Corporate. The audience enjoyed the highly inspirational inputs of the speakers at the Convention, with Shri Grandhi Mallikarjuna Rao, Chairman of GMR Group inaugurating the Convention and giving his message, Shri B A Prabhakar, Chairman of Andhra Bank delivering the Key Note Address, while the Valedictory Address was delivered by Padma-Shri Dr Pritam Singh, Director General of International Management Institute (India), New Delhi.
